I love the anticipation that all the kids get in going back to school. What kind of teacher are they going to have? Are there any cute new boys in their grade? New clothes, new pencil box, new back pack. It's interesting that this is a season of new starts for us, and a season for winding down and dying for nature. Nature has such grace in its "fall". Look at the beautiful Fall colors, brilliant hues of orange, red and yellow. It's a cool time of year, and the grass takes on a rich deep green, almost as a last hurrah before slipping into hibernation.
Smells really play a part in the season as well; apple cider bubbling on the stove, and the aroma of damp earth that wafts through the house when you open the door. At my parents, Halloween comes hand in hand with the smell of chili and sourdough bread. Pumpkin pie and fresh rolls accompanied by that turkey still in the oven grace Thanksgiving.I love the Fall. Such a wonderful time of year. I hope that as you have read this you have been able to catch my excitement, at least in a small way, and maybe bump you into the Fall spirit. As it is obviously not a good year for mums, I am sending you all a "bouquet of sharpened pencils"(You've Got Mail) and wishing you a wonderful new start into our Fall season.

you go girl! that was an awesome post! love it! keep it up :)
I loved all the things you used to describe Fall! It went perfectly with how I picture it. I love this time of year too. I love your wedding picture and cute little Jackson!
PSS. I've tried to save this to your blog site and bounces back with an incorrect password error. Therefore, . . . . .?!
PS. This is a re-send. I couldn' fix the spelling but I did change a couple of wrong words. We love you. :)
This is a nice blog and it sounds like you have some nice friends. Neither Mom nor I have ever written to a blog before so this a new experience for us. It is a handy way to communicate but talking is faster and less work. Leaving messages might be more convenient. I'm not sure that the last word in the last sentence was spelled correctly. Does this text editor have a spelling checker? Anyway, it was nice to recall the sickness of the last couple of weeks and as you are all still alive I assume the remedies worked. Bananas and apple sauce sound okay but I'll pass on the other stuff. I think Jackson's halloween costume is very cute and he'll love it. I hope you finish it soon. I'm also impressed with the little hat you crozuzaidedkhjad (pronounced: crow-shayed' . . . or some resonable factsimilty thereof). I loved the crozuzaidedkhjad flowers with the jewel at the center. As my spelling rapidly decays away from the English language I'd better stick to basics. Mom wants to go to bed because she is getting a crooked neck from lying ackwardly on the pillows and wants to say something nice but keeps falling asleep before I can type it. I need to take speed typing lessons. Say good night to Michael, Jackson, and baby girl. We love you all. Looking at the other blogs is appears that no one signs off with there name. So goodbye from Mrs Claus and Santa. HO! HO! (yes... you guessed it) HO!
